FMH QuikQuant™

Quantification of Fetal-Maternal Haemorrhage using flow cytometry

This is a comprehensive test using an antibody against haemoglobin F (HbF) and propidium iodide (PI) as markers for nucleated cells: a simple and rapid test.

FMH QuikQuant™ is used to diagnose foeto-maternal haemorrhage (FMH). This test uses an antibody against haemoglobin F (HbF) and propidium iodide (PI) as markers for nucleated cells. The method is simple and quick, taking approximately 45 minutes. With less than 15 minutes of handling time, the method is more efficient than the Kleihauer-Betke test, more sensitive and more accurate.

Key advantages

  • Visual separation of maternal RBCs, maternal F cells and foetal RBCs.
  • Faster and easier technique.
  • PI facilitates the identification of white blood cells.
  • FETALtrol™ available as an external control.

Features

  • Low F haemoglobin detection threshold of 0.06% of foetal cells in the maternal circulation.
  • Results in 45 minutes (15 minutes of handling) with only 2 centrifugations.
  • Registered as an In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Device (IVD/CE).

Applications

  • Detection of foeto-maternal haemorrhage (FMH)
  • Pregnancy with suspected RhD incompatibility
  • Abdominal trauma
