Heat-inactivated AB serum

For Research Use Only (RUO)

Our heat-inactivated AB serum :

Heat-inactivated AB serum is an essential component for many applications in cell culture, immunology and biotechnology research.

It is a complex mixture of molecules, the major role of which is to provide cells with the elements essential to their functioning and growth (growth factors, hormones, buffering agents and other nutritional elements).

Sera are heat-inactivated (+56 °C for 45 minutes) before pooling, to remove complement factors that might interfere with some experiments The serum pool is then filtered through 0.2 μm, after a series of successive filtrations.

This product has been manufactured using AB human sera from voluntary donors and collected in accordance with French regulations for Research Use Only (RUO). Origin of AB human serum : France.

Characteristics of heat-inactivated AB serum

Controlled source and optimal quality :

Produced from AB human serum collected in France, in accordance with current regulations.

Rigorous heat-inactivation :

Treatment at +56°C for 45 minutes, guaranteeing the elimination of complement factors and stabilisation of the serum.

Advanced filtration process :

Serum filtered to 0.2 μm after several filtration stages, ensuring high purity.

Certification and traceability:

A control certificate is supplied with each batch, guaranteeing full traceability of the product.

Advanced filtration process :

AB serum minimizes immuno-reactivity and is used in cell therapy and immunotherapy. No animal components.

Safety and regulatory compliance

  • Product strictly intended for research use – In vitro use only, excluding any therapeutic or clinical application.
  • Rigorous safety testing – Systematic negative screening for anti-HIV 1+2, anti-HCV and HBsAg.
  • Safe handling – Recommended under aseptic conditions, using protective gloves and goggles.

Ready to use :

Available in 100mL vials, for use in the laboratory after dilution in most cases.

Storage :

The serum should be stored in a light-protected area

Thawing:

After thawing the serum, storage at room temperature (+15°C to +25°C) should not exceed 20 hours.

Limiting freeze/thaw cycles :

It is recommended to aliquot the serum after the first thaw to avoid variations in composition.

Applications and fields of use

  • Cell culture : Used as a complementary medium to promote the growth and viability of cells in in vitro culture.
  • Immunological tests : Used as a reference medium for serological and immunological tests requiring an inert human matrix.
  • Hematology and immuno-hematology studies : Incorporated into tests requiring a standardised human biological matrix.
  • Biotechnology and diagnostics research : A key component in the development of new biomedical tests and applications.
